2008/9 Season
This season promises to build on last year, with two yachts returning to competitive racing. We have an interesting one design racing calendar and look forward to seeing you all out there. There are a couple of yachts for sale too, so we might see some new champions. Please get your membership forms in soon.
2007/08 National Champion
Ray Stone, sailing Razor's Edge won the 2007/08 Sydney 32 One Design National Championship series held at Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. The racing was extremely close, with four points separating the top four boats (see results page). Second was Who's Nuts, sailed by Chris Way and his Sydney 38 team, with If placing third. The weather conditions were atypical for spring twilights, with strong southerlies early in the regatta, followed by three days of shifting south and south-easterlies.
As with other recent regattas, the racing was extremely close and four boats won the eight heats. Consistent good performance was the key to success, with Ray scoring 24 points across the eight heats. Ray celebrated his 70th birthday this year, proving that this boat can be sailed and raced successfully by a wide range of yachties.
